A team that I have recently started working with is an "X team", although I don't think anyone on the team planned it that way or even knew what an "X team" was. I'm very pleased with the way the team is working together and with external partners.Good book. The content actually seems pretty obvious after reading it, but for some reason, this is not the way most teams or organizations work. I definitely recommend this one to anyone leading or wanting to lead in a organziation. The case studies were helpful but I would like to have seen more detail so the techniques would be easier to apply.

I read lots of books on teams (cfr. Lencioni, BIO-teams, ...). This book gives a new, interesting perspective on teams, a perspective that is very key for the fast changing world we are in. So, this is a must read for people that work with teams, need performant, agile teams, ...The only reason why it's a 4 star and not a 5 star: at the end I kind of started feeling to much of the same. The point was made for me at 75% of the book.Anyhow ... thanks Deborah !!

This was the textbook for a MBA leadership class. It had a lot of good points. But, it is all about teams designing new things. I work in an operations environment, so we are doing the same things as have been done for decades. I wanted something that showed how to improve what we are doing, rather than invent something new from scratch.

One of the murkiest books I’ve ever read. Solid premise for how to make modern day teams effective but the text is written in an unclear/unconvincing manner. There are better leadership books out there for those looking to improve their teams (i.e. The Five Dysfunctions of Teams).

Full of practical examples on how teams can excel. Examples were a bit outdated, still relevant though.Part 3 it's a great way to wrap up the book, with a practical step by step guide on how to build and deploy teams.At the end, the context of building teams is taken further up, showing how to build several sets of teams.Great read.

Very good idea, however could have been summarized in a chapter or two. The book gets very repetitive very quickly.
